Since version 5.6.0 video thumbnails and playback are broken again
(worked for me for the versions before with the libqtmultimedia
packages).
Digikam release notes state that starting with 5.4.0 qtav is used for
audio and video files,

I can confirm this.
I believe this is due to a CMake option not set:
-DENABLE_MEDIAPLAYER=on
This enables qtmultimedia support and is disabled by default.

Since version 5.2.0 Digikam does not use the default KDE theme Breeze
(as configured here), but always uses the Fusion widget style. Because
of this, Digikam does not blend well with other applications.

I have the very same problem. The popup is shown right over the icon only
if I use the right mouse button instead of the left one. After this, also
clicks with the left mouse button cause the popup to be shown at the
