in the latest Debian stable release (8.2) I get an error message when
connecting my camera and when I use the "Available devices" system tray icon
to "Download photos with digikam":

Seems to be a known issue in upstream
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339144
and is hopefully fixed in 4.14.2
I can work around the issue by deleting imported video files from the digikam
directory manually.

after a very long time, I saw a digikam crash again.

out of the blue rekonq did not open webpages anymore. I was able to fix this
behavior by moving ~/.kde/share/apps/rekonq out of the way, and let rekonq
new versions of these files.
It is not a serious problem, I can do that again, if it
might be related as

Surprising is that on my system I have no libgphoto2-2 specific udev rules:
