2013-05-19 Thread Ricardo Villalba
2013/5/19 Domenico Cufalo cuf...@gmail.com: Excuse me, but why close this bug report? It must be admitted that, with this bug, an important part of the program is unusable and that the version 0.8.0 is that of Debian Stable!!! In this situation, why not think at least to a backport, since the

Bug#705166: smplayer: doesn't play youtube video

2013-04-11 Thread Ricardo Villalba

I've just realized that the post-installation runs as root, so this isn't going to work. So forget my patch. I'll try to find another solution. Have you considered to patch mplayer2 to not abort when using the -fontconfig option and instead display a warning about using a deprecated option?

Bug#699864: mplayer2 from experimental doesn't work with smplayer

2013-03-27 Thread Ricardo Villalba
2013/3/27 Reinhard Tartler siret...@gmail.com: Would it be possible to have smplayer detect the version of the mplayer binary in some other way, such as by looking at some environment variable or looking at some file in the system? I would guess that the environment variable approach might be

2013-03-26 Thread Ricardo Villalba
I'm the developer of smplayer. I've just found this post: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=699864#14 Are you seriously considering to replace smplayer by smplayer2? Is this for real? smplayer2 is based on an old version of smplayer (0.8.0) while the current version of smplayer is
