Package: audacity
Version: 1.3.5-2+lenny1
Severity: important

The default preference of audacity under import/export for working on
uncompressed audio files is

Read uncompressed audio files directly from original (faster)

If an uncompressed audio file (say a WAV) is opened, edited, and the
re-exported to the same filename, the resulting audio file is corrupted
with the same audio data being written again, and again for the total
length of the file.

I believe this issue may already have been addressed by the Audacity
team, but see no mention of it downstream in the Debian bug-reports.
