Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Debian better.
Could anyone check if this bug is still reproducible with the releases currently
available in Debian unstable/experimental?

I can confirm this bug.
This bugs seems to be reported upstream here:
http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/boards/1/topics/230
And according to the comments, seems that the problem is caused by
GTK3.4 itself.

I tested it with the Debian
reassign 672498 audacious-plugins 3.2.3-1

Mouse scroll doesn't change any volume or equalizer levels, as it did in
previous versions. Not fatal, but quite a nuisance anyway.
It may be related to bug #666921 in gtk-3.0.
