I think "make info" in build/generic/Makefile reports some useful and
valuable information and I wonder if it could be called by default and
added into the "all" dependency chain like this:
all: info $(STATIC_LIB) $(SHARED_LIB)
Many open source projects report similar information subsequent to the
configure script, so maybe it could even get called from there...
