Hi, I've been able to reproduce this bug. A not-very-helpful workaround is to restart espeakup whenever sound goes missing. I've dug into the issue a bit and found it discussed on pulseaudio-discuss back in 2010. The discussion on the thread seems to indicate that espeakup and pulseaudio couldn't
