for the records: collective.portletretriever.reverse will break the
'hidden'-option for portlets. which means, they will be displayed anyway
even if hidden. summary: the other product succeeds...

I tend to collective.portletretriever.reverse because it claims to not use
overrides.

FYI: Ross published the newest version of formcriteria, it should work even
with Plone-4.3, now.

if I understood you right, that the requirement is, a portal_tab – being a
convential link to a folder – needs to be shown to authorized but not to
anonyma, what do you think about this approach as an alternative:
Add a collective.portlet.sitemap above the columns (possible with
Prod
tal:define="ajax_load python: 'ajax_load' in request.form"
found at http://pypi.python.org/pypi/plone.app.theming
this will make the page render, a step from where I can continue.
