Thats probably because the stock kernel of Centos/RHEL does not
support the board's ACPI.
Try booting the centos distro with "acpi=off" and see if it works. If
not, yank out the hard disk,
install it on a PC that is known to work, then grab the latest kernel
off kernel.org, and follow this:
