We also have this problem back then when i was working on one of the offices on ortigas the cheapest solution is to have a cat 6 cable drop from 20th flr. down to 10th flr. in our case we run the cables through the elevators from 25th flr. down to 5th flr. be ready to pay those building admins/engr

If speed or large bandwidth is a requirement, go wired. CAT 5 copper-based cable should suffice. And not so expensive. CAT 5 has an effective range of 100m. 10 floors is about 30 or so meters only, vertically. Run a CAT 5 cable from a port in one of the switches in the 20th floor down to a

you can also use a LAN extender, using a pair of wire that is already existing on the bldg (used for telephone lines) so no need for you to layout cables on your own. cant remember the brand it was Php 15K (for a pair) 3 yrs. ago. also , depending on the unit, throughput might not reach 100Mbp

CAT6 would be the cheapest solution to the problem. assuming each floor is 5 mtrs in height and the cable goes straight through upward or downward. switch to switch connection would do the trick. On Mon, Mar 9, 2009 at 5:27 PM, tikz chat wrote: > If heavy data/network usage, try having a fiber

If heavy data/network usage, try having a fiber optic backbone ( from 20th floor to 10th floor ) then switch/hub on each end. On Mon, Mar 9, 2009 at 5:22 PM, Roger Filomeno wrote: > It would help if you can tell us the network usage, like here in our office > which is mostly composed of dev runni
