I just want to share that I'm pleasantly surprised to see that the
original post did not trigger a religious war. PLUG has obviously gone
quite a distance in maturing to be able to handle "better distro"
questions with "it depends on the context".

When doing it on CentOS, it's the old fashion way as RHEL does. Using stable
releases from few years ago. Well documented and troubleshooting notes from
both RHEL people and community (coz the configuration and settings are the
same even 2 - 3 years ago). Most servers are not in bleeding edge, less
None of the above.
It's like asking which is better, Toyota or Honda.
Pick what you're familiar with.
