I'm using openDns and I must say that I'm fairly impressed with what I'm
getting considering that I'm using the basic free service. Most of the
sites I know about that I consider inappropriate are inaccessible with
openDns. I'd guess that the service is at least 90% effective at
categorizing web

I recommend opendns. They allow a lot of customization, even w/ a free account.
Google just wants another way to profile you.
