It lags and crawls when I try to reach any web site and then resumes
normal operation while I'm navigating within that s
Add a 3 to the boot command in grub or lilo to boot to text mode. Then you can
make adjustments to you X config.
Alternatively, you could try to get to text mode by pressing ALT-f(1-6) to go
to those consoles.
