I am trying to record some TV programs using mencoder from command line. I
have two older capture cards that I am using.
They are using cx8800 and BT878 chipsets. I think they have good Linux

Thanks to the good advice from Michael R. and others I bought a Panasonic
HDC-SD80 digital camcorder. Thinking there was a recent thread on digital
video editing, I checked the mail list archives for May and June. There's
only a thread on working with VHS tapes.
