I especially like that he used insulation and foam to cover every intake
or exhaust possibility. I seriously laughed out loud when I saw it.

I guess it depends on what you're developing. I wouldn't want to
recompile the entire Linux kernel on it; too slow. That's my main
concern. But if you're developing for embedded applications, you can
use it for a dev machine, then build the board that's in the thing

No DVI on t
I really like the idea of shelling into a dev box, then I can put my main
machine to sleep when it is not in use, however I have to have the ability
to have DVI out and to play .x264 video which may be a stretch for the
processor, and more then likely for the video card? Any thoughts?

Very nice. I have two in service, one as a firewall/router, the other
providing other network services. I wouldn't use it as a dev box. I
might use it as a smart terminal or web browsing box, though. I'm

+1 for cooler master centurions. nice rolled edge construction, good
ventilation, doesn't look like a spaceship. or
+1 for anything Antec. I've built boxen on several of their cases and
liked them all a lot.

I have a full tower case, all metal. Won't break or even chip. I'd
like to see your kid poke anything into this case! On a serious
note, not a case officianado but I get great cases through PCDiscounters
in Orem. Matt Orr there knows a lot about which cases are good etc...

I recently built a dev box using a Shuttle barebones. It has more guts
than the Fit PC and claims 35w idle / 55w load. The Fit claims
3-5w--does that seem reasonable to you? I put a Western Digital GP

I'd recommend the Cooler Master Centurion:

I've used this case and here is what I like:
- very sturdy, wire mesh on front is solid
- cools well as the entire front is wire mesh backed by foam
- pretty cool and quiet
- cheap ($50 w/o
