This is one thing I appreciate ablut my Lenovo R51. It is very well
documented. I just replaced the hard drive. It's a FRU: field
replacable unit. Mechanically, a piece of cake. Now for the software
issues

job

swear at the thing because there's some secret latch or attachment I
can't find that is stubbornly holding things together. Sometimes you can
find disassembly info online but not always.
I've promised myself I won't
When I was visiting a friend in Boise, their HP Pavilion was doing the same
thing. I took it apart and soldered the connector back in place. The worst
part was the time it took to take the laptop apart, but if you have the
patience to do this and remember where all the screws go, give or take one

but I am not afraid of screws so I think I'll try taking the biddy apart.
The power supply is probably the worst thing to lose, right? Anyway, thanks
again for the links 'n things.

PC laptop can fix it for you but they will charge $200.
It is less than a new laptop but expensive if you ask me..
I had them fix one for me and so far so good it has been working for
almost a year with no problems after they fixed it.

BTW, I did just buy a cheap HP Pavillion dv6000 *today*. What can I

Hopefully you never need service. :)
My backlight went out while my HP was still newly under warranty. I
must have had 3 different customer service reps on the oth
