Are you sure you refreshed the modem, and not the router? (or are they a combined unit?). It sounds like the DNS server on the router was totally broken and either had some cached records or your computer had some cached records. This is assuming you are using your router for your DNS server.

I just realized that I upgraded my system 4 days ago and this webpage not loading thing has only been around for two days. As such they are probably unrelated. Now I know it isn't mint 18.1! I just load windows and it too will not load most pages. I did find out that wikipedia will load.

Is anyone else out there experiencing the same thing or is it only me? I did check the sum of the download and it said everything was fine. I even burned the disk and then did a check of all the files in their md5sums list and they all checked out okay. "This file contains the list of md5

I upgraded from Mint 17.3 to 18.1 and ever since some pages won't load.one page in particular is duckduckgo. I remember when I upgraded to 17.3 a similar thing happened and you guys told me to change my DNS. Well, I did (I think) and still the pages won't load -- :-)~MIKE~(-:
