moin moin, BackupPC's error reporting really, really sucks. It's almost as bad as the old mac numbered bombs and oracle errors, except at least they give you error numbers that don't mean anything. So, when trying to debug why BackupPC is failing just safe yourself time and aggravation by trying

Honestly, for a LAMP stack, managing it yourself rarely makes sense. Unless you have some very specific needs, you can get a fully managed colo LAMP stack for as little as $10/month. Its hard to justify $100/hour consultation rates with products like this available on the open market. -jmz
