Thanks Matt,
I read your post. I'm thinking it is not the theme since both installations 1)
on my dev box 2) on hostgator both use the stock theme and the hostgator
WordPress works correctly.
Thanks again,
Keith

I am no expert, but I think they do that with Java. So basically the java
app that runs downloads and then saves the app for you.

You could probably find a progress bar at http://www.hotscripts.com. I've seen
them for php so I'm sure there's a java one there. Not sure how to create a
desktop icon though.

Did you try image uploading on the HostG
HostGator is running 2.3.x on the server I'm on.

The man behind the Sex, Drugs, and UNIX story has contacted me and now
we have an ongoing discussion :-) This resolves the open questions we
had in a thread a few months back. This is very interesting stuff

Hi Fellow PLUG Members,
Several months ago we has a discussion about accounting systems. One concern
was not being able to export your data.
I had lunch with a friend who now works at Intuit and he pointed out QuickBooks
Simple Start.
When I got home I took a look and found it is free.
I have encountered a problem where some buttons on my Gnome desktop panels, and
finally the panels themselves, have disappeared. I can get some stuff done
from the command line, but I'm pretty crippled ... had to create another
account on my box to get a fresh desktop!
I upgraded to Hardy Hero

Hi Keith,
While it is true to an extent that WP is popular with marketers, if
we are appealing to credibility here, Google has shown direct support
of Drupal rather than WP.

Hi Keith,
Before you give Quickbooks a hug, you should be aware that Intuit
has been playing the format game for some time and I would apply a
high level of scrutiny before you make any major decisions. There was
the OFX issue, which was an open standard (funded in part by M$

Thanks for your input. I think what we had discussed 4 ot 6 months ago was the
ability to get one's data out. With the excel export I'm guessing this
addresses this issue.
I do understand the marketing model. It is widely used on the internet.
