moin moin,
I found several claims that scribus can import JPG.
Under File-Import it has ctrl-D for pictures, but it's greyed out.
Tried just using ctrl-D, but that's also a nogo.
Am I missing some plugin? Did Ubuntu cripple it for some reason? Package
description includes importing JPG, so

Sounds like a problem with your video card (not enough video RAM?) or a
specific application causing problems. The problem sounds like it would be
difficult to diagnose with just this information. Do you use any desktop

ImageMagick's convert command like so:
convert pdf_file.pdf -size WxH jpg_file.jpg
or for a more specific example
convert dog.pdf -size 640x480 dog.jpg

If you put a frame for an image on your work surface (There is an icon
to turn that on) then draw a frame for an image the Import (Ctrl + D)
will become active.

There are a ton of guides for setting up Samba, just Google around.
Personally, I got tired of setting up Samba from scratch all the time,
so I've been using a Samba installer at http://majen.net/smbldap/ It
works with Debian/Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.

moin moin,
this month's west side meeting is Wed at 19:00.
We will have a presentation on Hobbit Monitor. Hobbit monitors servers,
