I have an old notebook with an ICH3 based chipset wich is half of the
audio and the AC97 supposedly the other half of the audio. I am trying
to get some flavor of Linux on it but cannot get the audio to pan out

Yes. My 15" laptop now runs Kubuntu with KDE 3.5. My Eee PC still has
the distro that came with it but I'll be changing that soon.
My wife (14" laptop) and kids (desktop) still run OpenSUSE. I'll move
them to Ubuntu next time an upgrade is needed.

You can use a Fedora Core or Ubuntu LiveCD with the new persistence via USB key
options. If you like you can hand install whatever security tools you want!
A LiveCD for security labs is generally just for network and linux security
professional use to protect your regular distro and allow yo

As you all know I am now trapped in the world of windows. I sat down
with a couple of old bootable distros of the Linux ilk and started the
laptop. The first one (Security Tools Distribution) started fine but
after a few minutes the mouse stops working. Then I started Mepis.

Nope, I'm still tickled pink with my iPhone. However, a good friend
pre-ordered the G1 for delivery on the 22nd. I'm looking forward to the

That MotherBoard will work suitely with Linux! You might want to update your
bios depending on which version you have. Bios updates are a good move when

Linux. Does anyone
in the Linux Group have experience with this board and Linux. I can load any
Linux Distro on it but
I would hate to break the seal on the box if it does not work with linux.
