from scratch, an so far my customer is happy.
Now I have a problem of my own...
I installed Ubuntu 8.10, and the upgraded to 9.04 beta some time ago.
Everything went smoothly, but now that the final release is out,

Guys, once you have a working Ubuntu/Wubi system, how likely is it the
user will just stick with it as long as it works?
Seriously?

Wubi is great for its purpose
For you it is not needed but for someone who is 100% new to linux it
is a great learning tool it was never considered a replacement for a

Thanks for the suggestions. Newegg advertised that all the NICS I mentioned

Lisa,
I agree totally..but, unfortunately, with a Linode account, I don't have

Tomcat creates a great deal of logs; it's needs to eat diskspace just
to be debugged.
An excellent log retention policy works wonders, but when developers
need debug data, you need that diskspace.
If you have the luxury of a huge drive, go-head partition away.
Otherwise do what the Linode people

chancing my luck with KDE again.

At first, I would think that the PII will be enough but the back of my mind
says...Naw... go with the PIII because one never knows. It really depends
on what the router will do in the future. I have a DL380 G2 with dual PIII @

I just did a presentation on this at the last HackFest.
And after working with IPCop, I found that personally, I would rather
not have to futz with it all. I would rather have an ASA or another
cisco DSL/firewall/switch that does Layer 2.5 VLAN, in place IDS, and
VPN.

Doesn't matter guys. He just does not see the point. And he is entitled to
feel that way. I just wish he would not try to have new users being turned
off by only having a LiveCD as a way to try it out. Of course now we can
also make them a LiveUSB stick to try which is somewhat better than the
