I have noticed a high correlation between Linux geeks and
Boardgame/Wargame geeks. So I wanted to send out a one-time feeler to
see if anybody on this list lives in my neck of the woods and might be
interested in

I ran into a similar problem today - my network slowed waay down
on me. All I used was ping to methodically to check all the connections and
found that a switch was reseting itself and dropping packets. Basically, I
turn everything off, reset all the routers, cable modems, etc,
I have a new Dell Vostro laptop and I want to add Debian to it. It has
Windows 7 Home Premium on it. When I went into the Windows 7 disk manager
all I could get was 1/2 of the C partition - 143 GB for Debian, and it
reserved the other 143 GB for Windows 7, even though it is only using 16GB
