Slow network connections can be due to problems with DNS, as well as CRC
errors in the device stack.
Start by verifying you have link lights on all cards and devices.
Then Check (send output to your helper of choice or the list):
DNS:
dig hostname
/etc/resolv.conf Command: nslookup hostname
Honestly have you tried connecting your Computer with the most issues
directly to the modem and see what changes. if it clears up it is with
network configuration and the router. if not its with the computer
itself and its configuration.
i would also look at what services you have turned on, for

NTFS places it's allocation database in the center of it's partition, and
that may be what's blocking your resize (I'm not terribly familiar with Win7,
so YMMV).
You might be able to use gparted from the Linux side, although a good backup is
strongly recommended if you take that approach.
I tried reducing the partition again from Windows, but it wouldn't let me. Even
after a reboot and a disk defrag.
I then booted gparted and resized the partition the way I wanted to. Rebooting
into windows forced a check disk process, but it completed without any errors
and now windows runs

Honestly, I've never seen a cable/dsl modem that acts as a DHCP server or

I know you have it done now, but one of the known issues with resizing Vista
and Win7 partitions (even using their own disk management tool) is that they
will not shrink past the restore point files or the pagefile. You can
temporarily turn them off, do the resize and then turn them back on.

Ryan,
The best and easiest way to edit is to delete the event and then rebuild it.
Looking at the other events will show you how to build a recurring event.
I can edit anything anyone needs in Drupal and I have root access on the server.
