That does sound like the next kernel will contain at least 1 killer new
feature. I'm really looking forward to that one. That should largely
take care of one of my biggest pet peeves about Linux.

Definitely check the output sound settings for the default sample rate,
maybe force it to standard 44khz. Then set audacity record properties to
the same sample rate, possibly the default hardware input settings too,
as audacity doesn't always have complete control of the hardware settings.
I'm looking forward to this patch. Will solve some problems I've had:-)
