Well unetbootin will image an isolated to usb device. Getting around that.
Google will point you fast. Also if you don't want to deal with drive
partitioning you can use wubi and install ubuntu to a file in your windows
partition. Those are the 2 fastest things I can think of. At work I use a

Is there any way to test the stability and health of the system?
I'm trying to use mencoder to convert ogv to avi and it's saying that
mplayer wasn't install with mp3lame. I've searched around on how to get
mplayer installed with mp3lame support but the instructions were hard to
understand.
I don't suppose there is a way with apt-get to do something like:
