You may already have tiff2pdf installed which is a command line tool that will
convert a tiff image to pdf document.

You can use xev to discover how Linux identifies the keystroke. The Windows key
is Super_L. Under the System Settings search for Keyboard Shortcuts and you'll
be able to configure just about anything you want. At least, in the stock KDE
that Slackware ships.

Unless you have extensions going haywire, you likely have too
windows/tabs/instances of it open, depleting memory and hitting swap.
Usually when my system starts bogging down, I'll find I have far too
many tabs open, exhausting memory, and/or flash goes bonkers hidden in a

I usually use Handbrake ( Packages available from http://handbrake.fr/
), Which does a very nice job. You can also use VLC in a pinch, but it
just compresses the movie and doesn't offer to add subtitles,
alternative audio tracks, or chapter markers.
