Yes but in PC-BSD its /usr/home I think OpenSolaris was something like /export/home Brian Stephen is bang on target here. I have /home on its own drive and it's glorious. Root can get corrupted, destroyed, resized or anything, and all my personal files and data remain intacta. It's also fun
