It looks like an mms url is being passed to slimserver but it fails to
handle.
Try some more of the debugging options comparing the logs of a failing
XM stream with a working MMS stream.
Start with d_parse and d_info. If it is networking problem try
d_async_http (I think).

Does anybody else find that SS 6.3 crashes after doing an import from
itunes? As far as I can see all the data/ratings/playcounts are
correctly imported, and until it crashes, everything looks normal.

to work when the app is actually running. when I have musicIP running

also, rescanning as suggested here resulted in only 3000 of my 24K
tracks appearing in the library. not sure what is going on here, but i
guess i'll wait until the kinks are worked out of the beta.

I've updated both plugins recently:
iTunesUpdate 1.8.0 for SlimServer 6.5 only.
- added a patch from Barcar to enable half-star rating from the
player.
iTunesPartyShuffle 2.0 for SlimServer 6.5 & 1.2 for SlimServer 6.3
(iTunes Windows only)

I have MusicIP running as a service and it was also running as an
application.
MusicIP has 13,017 songs, SlimServer finds 11,943. Don't ask me to
reconcile the two difference.
I will try rescanning with MusicIP as a service only.

This looks as through it is more complex than I was hoping. Before
getting MIP set up as a server, I want to make sure that it works with
SlimServer. I have Music IP 1.6 and SS 6.3.1.

Ah, I figured it out.
If Slim Server is already running, you are not able to get Music IP to
run as a server. After closing Slim Server and killing the slim
service, I was able to get the server started.
Knowing that it worked, I went to this thread:
