I've done a bit of experimenting to understand this issues and the
following is a summary of what I have found out. This is a long winded
post but I feel it is better to explain as best I can as others may be
able to offer suggestions.

I've had an idea for an enhancement (if possible) to the alarm plugin
due to sleeping in this morning! The problem is that I have a playlist
setup for Radio 1 (via AlienBBC) and the alarm use that playlist when
waking me up. The problem I had was my internet connection was down and

Bio works a treat, but Album Review produces nothing (blank screen with
"()" and the AMG Logo). No error text, no debug trails - what am I
doing wrong?
Could you please turn on the d_plugins flag and give a hint what the
plugin is printing while opening the page?

For me, both plugins get the info from allmusic sometimes, but gets
nothing most of the times.
Could you try the d_plugins flag, too (Server settings/Debugging). And
please try increasing the "Internet Radio Timeout" (server
settings/Networking).

I too have been experiencing the same problem for several months. Both
Biography and Album info were working, and then they stopped.
If they stopped after months of using them you might want to verify if
there's an updated version. Allmusic.com often changes their pages' layout

Yeah, I feel tempted. But I just had a look at the retail price of the
Transporter and came to the conclusion that the development would be
for a very small target audience.
I think the necessary changes are minor - and would probably mostly be in
the user interface configuring the plugin. I m

Thanks for making everything available to those interested.
As soon as I can buy a decent omnidirectional mic (I've found a good
DIY one with correction data file) I'll be sticking this in my system
and comparing it to my system as is.
Unfortunately I'm not allowed to play with the room to
In terms of the room response: DRC will do some boosting to compensate
for nulls. The amount of boost is configurable (the "DL" section of
the .drc files) -- I think the default is to boost up to 20dB but you
could wind that a way down.
Clipping etc is a separate issue. Nearly always, CD materi
I am running the latest 8-1-06 build of Slimserver (SlimServer Version:
6.5b1 - 8751 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252) My PC is Windows XP and I've
used both IE 6.0 and Firefox and I get the same results.
The Plugin installs fine and shows up in slimserver. The only problem

Could this plugin be modified to support custom review?
Of course it could: almost anything can be done programmatically - if you
find somebody to do it ;-)
I mean could this plug-in be modified to read a review.txt/html file in
the same folder as the ablum?
While the idea seems obvious,
I had the same problem with the latest release of of slimserver and a
older version of the sirius plugin. Once I upgraded to the latest
plugin 0.5.6 and the current slimserver 6.3.1 it worked great.
I got the plugin from:

Understood. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the fantastic work Inguz!!
One thing I didn't realise (until I installed it) is that the plugin
doesn't only do dynamic room correction. It can also function as a 2,
3, 5 or 9 channel tone equaliser, all controlled with the SB remote
from the comfort of your sofa!
So you can still mak

Yep I thought that would be the case and can understand the
complexities involved. I actually thought of the second 'emergency'
alarm just in case the radio timed out but ended up thinking it would
be more fun just to give my boss the middle finger!
Thanks for your help,

Thanks very much for taking the time to write such a detailed

I'm not very sure of the Linux as defaults could vary from distro to
distro.
I have SuSe and I have no problem and /proc/sys/net/core/rmem_max is
set to 131071 and I have an up to 4Mb connection.
However I think two FC5 have noted this problem - so I wonder whether
it is specific to FC5 setup.
3G and WiFi enabled smartphones are hitting the market right now (I'm
personally eyeing a Nokia N80). These phones should be capable of
receiving a stream of slimserver goodness over one of their many data

already? Anyone looked

I run 6.5 beta of the server. Can you downgrade from 6.5 to 6.3?
