Thanks Michael. I was actually asked about something like that when I setup the Squeezebox in my shop. Now I can add a custom text welcoming customers. You know, the humor involved in somebody putting a custom string in boot.ini would be quite amusing! Perhaps point it to /etc/lilo.conf? :-) --

That is something I have tried to do in the past and I may revisit it again. Would you only expect it on the web UI or on the squeezebox as well? Did you know that from the web UI you can click on the "(View Station)" link at the bottom of the page to take you to the station web page? Neil --

Isn't it 2 files ? One .pm and one .txt ? It's one file FileViewer.pm - the boot.ini file defined in the code is part of Windows (don't touch it!). You should replace its value with the file you'd like to display. -- Michael --

How do you use it with slimserver ? Uploaded it to plugins and created a .txt-file, but I can't find it in screensaversettings !? You must save it as .pm file, _not_ .txt. Then restart your slimserver. It should show up in Server Settings / Plugins. -- Michael -

The "10054" error message usually indicates a problem with security s/w. What version of Norton ? In many cases disabling the s/w/ is not enough - it has to be uninstalled as the s/w interferes with networking. Have you told Norton that slimserver, mplayer and socketwrapper are all "trusted" apps
