I'm running my SC7 on FreeNAS so it is linux based(actually FreeBSD) and therefore there is as you say bpa no support for wma because it is a windows-based format. But AlienBBC provides that for non-windows. But the problem is not that I can't play it. I just don't understand why it is nesacary t

When the server is on Linux and you want to play WMA on Softsqueeze you needs a transcoder - AlienBBC has these settings. So as well as RealAudio, AlienBBC also enables playing WMA stream on Softsqueeze (and SB1) when Slimserver/SqueezeCenter is on a Linux or OSX system. -- bpa ---
