It wasn't so much the upgrade to the new version that fixed my problem but the reboot that was required. So to recap, the issue I'm having is that after stopping and starting the SC, I loose my plugins. I get 404 error: can't find settings...blahdeblah. I get them back again when I reboot.

Ah, this is driving me nuts. Finally I had v1.1.1 working (with a slight interface problem), but v1.1.10 doesn't work anymore at all. To install v1.1.10, I did a clean re-install of SqueezeCenter (v7) to remove any traces of the past. SqueezeCenter worked fine. Then I installed SqueezeScrobbler
