Well, that certainly explains why the plugin is flaky when configured for the high bit rate. It's particularly odd that it appears to act this way on channel 26 only. As for help with the Perl code, it's been a long time since I've done anything Perl, so I won't be of much help on that front

Hi, I'm the one who coded gslimp3. I've haven't update the packages for the latest versions of ubuntu, I'll do it when I'll find some time. You're not obliged to use madplay, mpg123 should do the job too for exemple. You can setup the player in the Edit -> Preferences menu: mpg123 /dev/stdin --
