I wonder if anyone can help, AlienBBC seems to have stopped working for
me.
squeezecenter 7.1, with Alien 2.01b (with the iPlayer v5 bits), mplayer
1.0rc2-4.1.2 on linux
eg trying to play radio 4 through the squeezebox, I get this in the
log:

Did you run the mplayer.sh under the same userid as SC normally runs ?

forgot to say sometimes, but not always, play does start after the 60
seconds timeout.

Before starting on a debugging session - it is usually better to think
about what has changed since it was working.
Running mplayer.sh is good but with SC there are a lot of additional
parameters which you have not used and there is also the possibility it
is the transcoding that is at fault (i.e

the length of the program. Do you get the same problem with all bbc
streams - both live and listen again?

server/router which allows the telnet version through but not the
server?

I've had the same timeout happen on occasions - I put it down to
overloaded BBC server because if I stop and try play again, it usually
works.
However usually when the timeout the stream starts playing but there is
no duration or program info.
Do you have a DLINK router ?
