Working really nicely on my touch-screen HTC Magic phone.
Congratulations to Dag for a sweet bit of dev!
If you did decide to opensource it, I'd be happy to get my hands dirty.
I've been looking at the SDK and it seems reasonably straightforward (I
want to make a 'pitchpipe' app for giving notes

Oops - no I didn't.
I've been running into an issue for a while now with the Dynamic
Playlist plugin when playing random songs. The playlist works fine
unless/until I press any button (pause, skip, etc.) on the remote. When
I do this the player immediately locks up and becomes unresponsive to
any further remote key
BTW - wavin2cmd parses the string wavin:xxx.
The string xxx is parsed as an integer.
If parsed value is invalid (e.g. non numeric) , I think a value of 0 is
used.
If the value is is outside the number of devices (i.e. 1,2,3 or 4 on
your system) I think a value of 0 is used.

No - see WebUI - Settings/Advanced/Logging
Also make sure it is plugin is reset to use wavin:0

So this looks to be a feature of MusicInfoSCR as its this which defines
SONGTIME and uses the server cache mechanism for it. All other duration
mechanisms don't cache the duration in the same way.

OK - that means there nothing wrong with the wavin2cmd app but there is
something wrong when or how wain2cmd is invoked as part of the waveinput
plugin.
Can you do a log with player.source set to DEBUG. This will give full
details of command line used to run wavin2cmd.

I downloaded and installed on Vista (as app not service).
It runs and says it is connected to network (Vista unblock request
popped up ... I unblocked it so it is listening) - but not discovered by
my UPnP devices.
I have not rebooted - and would rather not at the moment ... but I

Thanks for you support.

Whether you think you can or...
you think you can't, either way you are right!

I suspect the SONGTIME issue is a caching one - we start to play the
stream but don't know its length for a fraction of a second until it
actually starts playing. Will have a look, but I'll release this
version if I do not spot it soon as it looks to have fixed the main
problem.

works great on my squeezebox and duet. Still trying to control the duet
control ;-)
It would be great if you could add "Music Folders" and "Random Mix" to
the list, since they are my favorite ...
Thank you

Triode,
It looks like you've solved the problem. I just listened to a 2 hour
show with no break. I didn't even notice the audio glitch you mentioned.
Thank you for all your efforts.
I, too, am using MusicInfoSCR and it always shows 0:00 as the total
length (I think this is known as SONGTIME) for

It looks from this thread and the original one announcing the plugin
that this plugin is no longer working for many people. Paulisded, what
version of the plugin and SC are you using and what type of server are
they running on? Also, do you subscribe
Hi erland,
did some more experimenting. I load SC on my laptop, and also loaded on
my test 'abcdef' files into the local iTunes library, ie on the same
drive as SC. I didn't change any settings apart from pointing SC to my
iTunes library and turning on iTunes import. I can still replicate the

I have both AlienBBC and MPlayer installed on Linux and Mac, and cannot
get SoftSqueeze to work with the new XM plugin on either playform. The
plugin does work with hardware Squeezeboxes.

Hi erland,
I am getting some TrackStat errors in my server.log. Do you know what
causes these? I have checked the tracks and they play fine in ITunes and
load correctly in SqueezeCenter.

Are people looking to use mainly the advert based service ? If not then
isn't the paid service similar to Napster ?

Ui Pippin,
I will try and explain it better.
I stop the music in Ipeng. The speakers go silent and no music comes
out. But if I open Squeezecenter I can see that it is still playing like
it just went on mute. so if I turn on Ipeng the music starts immediately
without me doing anything.
