Maybe I won't be able to resurrect the old iPod then. Maybe purchasing in iTunes on a desktop will then allow the download of older versions. I'll update once I get a chance to try it but probably not for a while yet. jim

Hm, I just checked it out and to me it seems that what doesn't work with 3.1 is the App Store App It mentions the 1.4.5 but what it actually offers down in the details of the page is indeed the 2.0.13. That's the current release which indeed only works with iOS 4.2 and newer. --- learn more

1.4.5 is what i run on my 1st gen iPod 1 with iOS 3.1.2, it definitely works. It's the App Store versions, it's been years since I had a development environment allowing me to install stuff on these old devices myself. I don't know how well the App Store copes with these old versions but if you m

Me again. Since my post above I've discovered that if I run SqueezePlay on my PC and Squeeze Player on Android, using the same LMS, I can play from Bandcamp with no problem. Then I switch back to my Squeezebox Receiver and nothing (as described above). Strangest of all is that I've discovered t

Thanks Pippin for the clarification. I am off on a trip next week so I will be able to compare the 2 systems used remotely - assuming I can find a decent wi-fi. At present iPeng on iPad is still ahead. Unfortunately the iPad is my wife's! QNAP TS419p 4Tb LMS7.6.1 Living Room - SB3 -> Onkyo TS60

Don't worry about duplicate server entries in iPeng. iPeng will always select the appropriate server and unless your router is completely brain dead there's not even a risk associated with selecting the wrong one. IPeng will even continue the same cache since it detects that the servers are the sa

In fact its even better than I said as the Android Play Music app allows multiple accounts to be connected at the same time. I'll need to check whether it aggregates the library but if so then its just a case of splitting your music into appropriate folders on LMS and doing as I said before. QN

No worries. There is a way round the 20k limit but you need 2 gmail accounts. In my case I have a QNAP runs LMS. You can have more than one folder defined for music as you know. On PC you map folder 1 as a mapped drive and use Music Manager to upload changes. When you reach 20k you set up a new Gm
