You can enable the artwork download (for albums) in the MAI settings
(download missing cover art from online sources)
It does link to artist artwork but downloads album covers.

I have the problem, that most tracks smartmix picks from deezer-plugin
are preview-tracks. I see urls like the following on the debug-log:

But then, lucky shots come up with the full track-url:
