First, install the youtube plugin on your slimserver normally
Second, make sure you have Mozilla::CA, Net::SSLeay, IO::Socket::SSL and

Assuming the test m3u8 streams play OK on your system.
The problem is the URL uses a non standard MIME type audio/mepgurl.
YOu need to stop LMS, edit the PlayHLS plugin file custom-types.conf and
add the text in red - don't forget the separating comma and then restart
LMS.

I too had a plugin crash when testing pcm this morning with a5, and
switching tracks fairly quickly, but had no log to show.
LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16-24 bit,
44.1-192kbps. LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (to MF amp
