plugin as a directory of stations & their stream URLs ... and not being
involved in the subsequent streaming.
So in this case it is likely that the metadata is embedded in the stream
by the broadcaster.

JRiver is nice, but it will likely never do precise zone syncing. This
has been a long-requested, but it is a difficult problem, esp. when they
have no control over the hardware.

I am using the UPnP/DLNA bridge on Windows to run my Naim NDX mostly
successfully. However, every now and again a track will not start. There
is silence and the LMS progress indicator continually clocks up a few
seconds and then appears to restart.

Yes, and no. Some older versions have been archived (you should be able
to find the links up-thread), but not the final versions and not all
architectures.
