I run Squeezeboxserver at rpi board. When I click to play a track, it
will buffer for some time and then when it starts to play, it will emit
a loud and short white noise before it plays.
Is there a way to prevent the white noise from coming out?

I have changed another cd and I added the "CD - Text by" instead of raw
format to playlist and it showed all tracks with song titles. However,

The white noise only happens during buffering and before it starts to
play. It is not fixed to a track and it may or may not happen to the
same track again. As long as music stops and waits for buffering, then
there is a chance that it may happen. When it happens, the dvd rom will
spin erraticall
The LMS is running on rpi 2B and Squeezelite is running on Beaglebone
black. Both of them are connected by ethernet to a router switch. The
rpi is also attached with a 2.5" HDD with music file storage.

Here is the server.log. I cleared the playlist and add the whole
original cd album and purposely started playing from track2. It took
about half an hour to buffer before it could start playing. When it
started, it emitted some pops and disk spun erratically.

After I deleted away the speed parameter or hardcoded it to 24X, the LMS
could play with less buffering. The buffering may be would take about 5
min. However, the white noise or pops still happened.

I tried again reinstall LMS for newer version of 7.9.2 at rpi 2B as I
have tested it at ubuntu intel NUC machine and it was running well the
CDplayer in instant mode and with no white noise whatever.

I have 2 lms players, one in Odroid C2 and another one in Sparky
Usbridge. The dvd rom external drive is plugged in to the Odroid sbc. I
have created a symbolic link as "ln -s /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom" at media
library /mnt. Besides, the LMS at Usbridge has run Remote Music Library
and CDplayer
