also, with regard to buffers, I have trawled the interwebs and have seen
recommendations of a few 100MB for the input/output buffers all the way
to 1 and 2gb

Now that I have Deezer Elite working with my Transporter (thanks to this
forum) , I did a quick sample check of the two catalogs.
And it looks like I will have to run both tidal and deezer!!!
Two quick data points:
- Deezer has all the old Uriah Heep catalog (except strangely their 2nd
album)

if you mean "Proxied streaming for hires services" in Ickstream... that
