All 'custombrowse' directories point to the same (self-created)
directory (var/lib/squeezeboxserver/custombrowse).

to access to custombrowse settings, i only get the main
setting screen (Settings). When i select enabled menus i see the browser
trying to reach that page but it never displays the page. This happens

You don't need ML for this. Just create a new CB menu from the filtered
artists menu (or the filtered artists per letter menu). in the setup of
this menu you can include or exclude genres. You can even let this menu
show in the toplevel of your squeezebox(es).

There is a filtered album (per letter) and a filtered artist (per
letter) menu within CB.
But a sub menu i never tried it myself, just go ahead and see if you

I would say, go for a self made itx system, install Clarkconnect and you
are a lot more flexible in installing plugins and addons like musicip.
Or buy a used thin client. Besides that your system will be and a lot
faster and probably cheaper.

Ok, i don't want to wait on that. So i downloaded a minimal debian etch
iso and installed it together with squeezecenter, mounted the music
directory, works perfectly, and i am up and running.

I tried 2 different cd-rom drives and burned several CD's (RW and R) but
everytime the same result.
The debian install .iso which i burned worked and installed without
problems, so i am not sure it is the CD-rom drive or cd's.
