If you hear the station playing through your SB - then WMA is working.
The timer running is part of the WebUI - it is started when a
connection is attempted to be made to the station. It should stop if
the attempt fails. Do not assume when the timer incrementing there is
audio data coming from
I have now tried reinstalling several 7.3 builds.
I get the same result - live plays fine (as WMA).
Listen again will not play - timer displays on web page (runs
indefinitely), name of program appears on the SB - but no sound.
changing the settings in BBC iplayer from advanced, change what
What version of 7.3 ? 7.3.1, 7.3.2, 7.3.3 or 7.3.4 ?

7.3.4 is good for BBCiPlayer - stick with it.
The QNAP issue was special to the ARM processor and the version of
Linux on the QNAP - neither of which apply to ReadyNAS.
With only AAC disabled on BBCiPlayer settings, can you get a log of
trying to play a listen again stream with the following
hmm
Not sure how to collect all the bits - do they do in server log.
However, I note that I have errors already.

requested so comms to BBC never started.
It is important to get the earlier message so the origin can be found.

Thanks for that.
What I don't understand it how it was working until I upgraded. I have
not added or removed any pertinent rules from my ISA server for months.
Until I tried my update (7.4 and I guess mew iPlayer), I was happily
listening again from my ReadyNAS for months?
I suppose, I should
So far everything seems to work... thank you.
I know that the upgrade, updated the iPlayer - I was susprised to find
it hadn't done this automatically.
The firewall is on a separate Windows 2003 server running Microsoft's
ISA server. (If there is a firewall capability on the Readynas - I know
Windows 2003 Server seems to be the common factor for this problem -
it's firewall seems to be setup very securely.
Thanks it's good to know these things.

Sorry - I don't want to mislead you.
It has nothing to do with Windows 2003 server in my case.
I run Microsoft's Internet Security and Acceleration Server (a firewall
proxy server) application on Windows 2003 server. This sits between my
block of public IP addresses and my internal network -
When I am listening live I see the following on the squeezebox server
web pages
BBC Radio 4
BBC
128kbps CBR, WMA Internet Radio
and then a timer?
Does that mean that WMA is working?

A few weeks ago I started upgrading. I went through the multiple
instance problem with 7.4, cleaned up in various ways (including rm'ing
from ssh) and have now installed 7.4.1 twice.
Basically I can play using list live but not from listen again e.g.
today, Tuesday. I get the list of programs (
Did BBCiPlayer work for you on 7.3 ?
Are you in the UK ?
What model player are you using ?

Since you are in the UK you have access to MP3 Listen Again which
requires no transcoding so disable the AAC setting in BBCiPlayer
settings and this should mean MP3 will be used for Listen Again.
Softsqueeze needs transcoding support for AAC and WMA which I think are
not included with ReadyNAS.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Tried it
No joy - only flash MP3 is now set.
Result the same.
The server seems to believe it is playing - the clock is counting on
the website but the player is stuck at 0. This happens whether I start
playing from the website or from the squeeze player. So the
