Well, the fastest I can get giving 100% for the full 10 minutes was
2000kps. I get 98 - 99% all the way up to 5000kps.
I also tried Radio 2 on my wired Squeezebox+ and there were no drop
outs - I guess wireless connectivity is the problem after all.

BBCiPlayer should not have audio dropouts as it does not play RealAudio.
Gaps can occur due to buffering - are you getting buffering messages
?
Buffering can be due to processor or network overload or poor LAN. What
type of processor/system running SBS have you got ?

When listening to live BBC Radio I get sound drop outs. All goes silent
for a short while, usually a few seconds, then restarts. I know that
MPLAYER.EXE has an option to increase the size of buffer it uses but I
do not know how to set that when it's used from Alien BBC.

I'm trying the IPlayer plugin now - didn't even know it existed. Too
soon to say if it has fixed my problem with drop outs.
