On a different note, is this new AlienBBC better sounds quality? The
original AlienBBC had a terrible bitrate. Is this the same?

bpa,
I made the mistake of upgrading to 7.3 and lost AlienBBC in the
process. :(
What's your latest thoughts about a fix for SC7.3? Is it likely to come
soon or should I go back to 7.2?
Thanks

I need to do more testing of AlienBBC 2.02 with 7.3. There was one SC
serious problem which could cause SC lockup - that has been fixed. At
present I can make the AlienBBC fail to connect but I am not sure if it
is BBC server related.
I think with the lockup problem removed it will be OK to

I noticed you posted just a couple hours ago, so I guess is not yet

What's the status of the v2.02 Beta1 for SC7.3? I'm assuming there is no
way to make 2.01 Beta1 work on SC7.3... right?

There is a version of AlienBBC for 7.3 but there was a problem in SC 7.3
which manifested as a system lockup when playing transcoding streams and
so the AlienBBC for 7.3 was withdrawn until the source of the problem
could be determined and fixed.

I have loaded this version (2.02) of AlienBBC and most everything seems
to be working well. However, I cannot seem to connect to the above
show, no matter which menu route I use to find it. It starts to
connect, but either the connect fails or my Squeezebox thinks it is
connected and playing the
on SC settings/Plugins/AlienBBC/Settings and dragging and droping from
the Edit menu link. I only do so because I use Radio 3 much more
often. No big thing for me, but if someone else runs into this, it
might help.

I realized that my broken menu mentioned in a previous post, occurred
when I reordered the station entries in the plugin configuration menu.
Having reset the entry (i.e. not puting Radio 3 first) brought back
all the Radio 3 listings. Go figure

Odd. Earlier today I had a long list of programs under Radio 3, but a
half-hour later, only the live stream. Radio 4 and the World service
seem to have a long list.
Probably something trasient (I hope) due to BBC?
Thanks for the superb plug-in

Are you currently looking for any feedback on the 'experimental' 7.3

Are you using Linux or Windows ?
IIRC On Windows there is a timer in socketwrapper which disconnect a
paused stream after a while.

many thanks to all the AlienBBC team for the new release.
one thing I have noticed post upgrade is that many (all?) of the listen

IIRC this would have just been
The URL complete with port number comes from the BBC - all AlienBBC does
is lookup the item from a web page line.
It is odd that 80 has appeared.

I am playing the BBC Composer of the Week sequence. I have a playlist
which contains the mon thru fri links.
When the player finishes an entry and automatically starts the next
entry, the scanner stops working. I've seen two different symptoms.
One is that the scanner does not appear at all
I think BBC have changed most program URL so unless the URL you are
using can be found on the iPlayer menu - it will be unreliable.
Can you get the URL rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/radio3/cotw/cotw_mon.ra from
an iPlayer entry ?

I just checkled that URL - scanner works OK for me. Can you try with
longer timeout - make sure you have Settings/Advanced/Network/Radio
Station Timeout set to something like 15 or 20 secs.
