Squeezecenter-remote is a script that allows you to play tracks on your
Squeezebox from the command-line, by double-clicking on them in the
file browser, clicking on them in a web browser, etc. It works even if
SqueezeCenter isn't running on the same machine as your desktop.

It installs itself as a handler for lastfm:// URLs too, so that you can
direct LastFM stations to a Squeezebox if you have the LastFM plugin
installed.

Also included are a few Perl modules for controlling a remote
SqueezeCenter. At the moment, just enough functionality is included to
drive squeezecenter-remote.

So far only the Gnome desktop is supported. It will work with KDE
provided that you have the Gnome libraries installed. Patches to
support Windows, MacOS, etc., from people who use those platforms would
be most welcome.

You can download version 0.1 from
http://www.mavit.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/squeezecenter-remote/Net-SqueezeCenter-Remote-0.01.tar.gz.
If feedback is positive I'll upload to CPAN for ease of
installation.

This is the first release, so expect a few rough edges.
