Glad to hear that it is working now. :) The xilinx chip is responsible
for different things inside SB including IRBlaster that's why I thought
it could probably help to reprogram it.

I'm not too sur what this xilinx chip is about, but I did what you
suggested: reprogramming the xilinx chip. And, miracle, the IR-Blaster
is now working perfectly fine. (I still have to check with the right IR
code for my Onkyo amplifier, but it looks like it is sending IR
signals)

Yesterday I went to K55 in Zurich, a shop that carries Logitech SB3s,
and tried IRBlaster and it worked without a flaw. So I am pretty sure
it's not a problem with the Logitech branded SB3, but something seems
to be wrong with you unit.

Some more info... I plugged the headset while activating the IR ouptut.
On the working SB3, I can hear some tones on the left earphone.
On the faulty SB3, I can hear nothing, or rather some kind of noise on
the left earphone, likely to be the "always on" level.

Yes, my SB3 are hooked to different amplifiers: the two first ones are
connected to Yamaha receivers, while the last one (for which the
IR-Blaster is not working correctly) is hooked to an Onkyo receiver.
My first reaction was that maybe the .conf file for Onkyo was not good;

.conf file you are using and / or ir command you are sending?
