Oops ... just to add .. tried 3:u8, u16le, u16be, u32le and u32be with
-D and dsd files are just white noises. Reverted back to just -D and dsd
files plays but not dsd256 ones when dc03 pro is marketed with native
dsd256 capability .. presumably becos it is dop with limited bandwidth.
Cheers.
Oops .. just to add ... tried 3:u8, u16le, u16be, u32le and u32be and
nothing but white noise with dsd music. Leave it at -D and dsd playback
works. Cheers.

Hello FMatos,
Sorry for not replying - not been a good month. That firmware was the
same as mine and i have even upgraded to the latest one 7.3b and i still
have no native DSD playing. As i converted all my rips to flac (except
a few test ones), i have given up on playing native DSD.
Thats fo

It´s the "Firmware 7.2 MQA / DSD256 (Cookies & Cream)", I never tried
the other one but I think the result must be the same.
Some more questions:
Are you using the US

In the end i converted my Dsf files to Flac and play them that way. ifi
still haven't released a firmware that allows greater flexibility with
squeezlite. I do still keep looking though!
Cheers

Okay then.
After much playing and reading i have come to the conclusion the new and
shiney is not always the way to go :(
I have run the Zen DAC V2 on Windows, MacOS and Linux with a variety of
results. Windows is best, MacOS is okay and poor Linux is the worst.
This i think is purely dow

These are all the others @slartibartfast
35368
They unfortunately don't help as i have tried them :(
I think it's purely the Zen DAC V2 not being recognised correctly by the
USB Audio driver (though why it finds all the rest of the ifi range and
not this i don't know).
Knew i should have got

@slartibartfast - that site was useful in the beginning but it was also
the one that gave all the weird issues with the queues so i removed it
all.
@paul- - i only added that to make a difference but it didn't so i shall
remove it.
@ralphy - This is whats confusing me as the Zen's light changes
The output from alsacap should list at least one DSD sample format for
the iFi if it actually supports native DSD, which doesn't appear to be
the case from your previous post.
Eg from my iFi ione nano
Code:
Card 2, ID `Audio', name `iFi (by AMR) HD USB Audio'

If you are playing true DSD, then I would not force alsa to 16bit (Third
field in the -a line). Let the value in the -D line take care of the
bits.

Hello Folks;
First post so please be gentle :)
After being given a friends late fathers vintage amp i decided i needed
headphone capabilities and my piCoreplayer/IQAudio DAC+/Pi3 wasn't up to
it. After looking around i decided on an Ifi Zen Dac V2. Using
pciCorePlayer i set it up fine but the
