A number of streaming applications use caching in various incarnations including persistent storage. Moreover, some let the user decide which files to cache... I'm guessing this is acceptable, if it can be argued that the main feature of the application remains streaming (and not caching). --

Ipeng is wonderfull. Was the compelling reason for me to buy an ipod touch. An obvious missing feature is the ability to copy files between squeezebox server and my ipod so i can take some music away when not connected (and wo using itunes). Would this be possible ? -- reniera
